About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Trainer Assessor in Western Australia. You will be part of the OS Training Team, dedicated to maintenance deployment streams, which supports a range of BHP sites to ensure our Fixed Plant Maintenance deployments are safe, efficient and productive.

Our Trainer/Assessors are required to move between different sites to support OS deployments. The role will be site-based and will work an 8 days on 6 days of roster. 

You will:

• Use your experience in  Fixed Plant maintenance to deliver competency-based training materials to individuals or groups;
• Conduct Verification of Competencies for specific equipment and/or HRWLs to ensure new team members are competent and authorised to work;
• Review performance and implement training in line with business drivers;
• Contribute to the design of training plans and support colleagues close any training gaps;
• Ensure training materials are maintained in line with business and industry standards;
• Ensure team members are adequately skilled and are available across all shifts to ensure safe and effective execution of work;
• Work with team members to support upskilling and career progression
• Coach and mentor team members on how to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions relating to standardised work;

About You

As a Maintenance Trainer Assessor, you will also demonstrate:

• Relevant Fixed Plant Maintenance  experience ideally through a fitting/mechanical trade or similar
• Site-based mining experience applying your skills in Fixed Plant maintenance;
• Experience conduction High Risk and mobile plant verifications of competency.
• A passion for delivering your technical expertise to others in an engaging and professional way;
• Solid experience as a Trainer Assessor within the resources sector;
• Have an up-to-date Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment – preferably the TAE40116
• Have maintained currency with the plant/equipment and work activities in which you train/assess;
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work autonomously;
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and facilitate presentations;
• Understanding of tactical decision making and prioritising for value, and;
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach to improve performance and upskill.

Required Qualifications & Licences:

• Certificate IV – Training and Assessment (preferably TAE40116).
• Current and valid High Risk Work Licences for – Forklift, Elevated Work Platform, Dogging and Basic Rigging.
• Current Work Safely at Heights unit of competency.
• Valid and current driver’s licence.

Desired Qualifications & Licences:

• HR Drivers Licence.
• Telehandler (Unit of competency).
• Current and valid High Risk Work Licences for Intermediate Rigging & Crane Operation
