About the Role
In this role you will lead, coach and mentor employees, ensure a safe system of work is in place for each activity. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our maintenance strategies, communicate the changes to the team, supervise the execution of the daily work schedule and provide feedback on what worked well and the potential opportunities for improvement.
As a Section 44 Appointed Person, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations. Based at our ‘Area C’ mine site you’ll be working on 7 days on 7 nights / 7 off (2/1) roster.
Our Area C mine is located approximately 120kms North West of Newman, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Maintenance, your duties will include:
• Demonstrating and instilling an overriding commitment to health, safety & environment • Setting and clearly communicating targets and expectations • Overseeing, coaching and mentoring employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team • Managing the planning, scheduling and execution of all Drills and Excavator Maintenance work • Ensuring reporting systems are kept up to date • Ensuring the tooling and equipment required for maintenance work are in good working condition • Reviewing and monitoring maintenance performance on a daily and weekly basis • Ensuring all work is completed and properly recorded in 1SAP • Developing, communicating and executing the Drills and Excavators Maintenance work plans • Assisting with the monitoring of all contractor work activities.

You will have significant experience with the operation and maintenance of heavy mining equipment; exposure to the Liebherr 996/9400 Excavators and Epiroc D65/Pit Viper 271 Drills would be highly advantageous . A strength of yours will be your ability to communicate efficiently, ensuring the development of staff through your influencing and relationship management skills. You will be a proactive, credible and influential member of the leadership team whilst building strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
Our successful candidate will need to be suitably qualified in order to manage all aspects of the departments’ deliverables and supervisor core routines.
Experience and skills required include:
• A Trade qualification in Mechanical/Fabrication, Electrical, Heavy Diesel or Auto Electrical, is preferred • Applicants with a diploma or degree level of qualification in Engineering are encouraged to apply • Current full “C” class motor vehicle license – essential • Working knowledge of Mine Safety & Inspection Act & Regulations • Solid technical experience of maintenance practices • Systems knowledge of maintenance processes (e.g. Work management, reliability, information management, cost control and budgeting processes) • Ability to provide supportive leadership and committed development of frontline personnel.
