The External Affairs Strategy & Planning team works to establish, embed and continuously improve the long-term integrated strategy of the External Affairs function, as well as associated programs of work. Members of our team have a unique and unparalleled opportunity to work globally across all External Affairs sub-functions (Corporate Affairs, Legal, Sustainability & Climate Change, Compliance, Ethics & Investigations, Group Governance, and Internal Audit). This role can be located in either Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth or Melbourne.
Reporting to the Manager of Strategy & Planning, this role will support External Affairs with technology governance and functional integrity requirements, drive planning processes to support our portfolio and undertake global programs that enhance the culture, capability, effectiveness and efficiency of External Affairs. In this role you will:
• Collaborate closely with External Affairs teams to support our technology governance and functional integrity requirements and processes. This includes governing External Affairs’ Application Portfolio and technology requests – ensuring benefits are defined and captured; conducting prioritisation and optimisation in alignment with the integrated External Affairs strategy; and engaging with Technology teams and other stakeholders to track delivery and performance.
• Support key activities as part of the integrated planning process for External Affairs, including input into components of the Appraisal, five year plan and strategy.
• Support External Affairs teams with their planning processes, ensuring alignment with broader External Affairs strategy and Asset plans
• Coach and upskill External Affairs teams in governance, application ownership, project management, planning, continuous improvement, business case development and change management.
• Act as Product Owner and Business Application Owner on function-wide technology projects and support the identification and implementation of technology innovation opportunities across External Affairs.
• Identify and implement solutions to continuously improve EA’s technology governance and assurance activities and the culture, capability, effectiveness and efficiency of External Affairs teams
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and experience:
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business Management or similar.
• Demonstrated experience working in a global company, large multi-disciplined organisation or management consulting firm.
• Demonstrated experience in IT governance, including application portfolio management.
• Understanding of technology systems and infrastructure. Technical system knowledge in SAP, automation and reporting technologies would be a benefit.
• Experience in project management, stakeholder management and continuous improvement. Experience in new ways of working (e.g. Agile) and Lean / continuous improvement is advantageous.
• Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of the organisation (technical and non-technical). This includes the ability to transform complex technical language and process concepts into clear messages for non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in leading and implementing process change through technology systems – including organisational change management.
• Experience in process design and documentation.
• Ability to work autonomously, but also work effectively in a team and be a positive team contributor
• Experience working in a geographically dispersed team would be a benefit but not essential.
