Senior Project Engineer – SMP

THE OPPORTUNITY: 

An exciting, newly created opportunity has become available for a Senior Project Engineer – SMP to join the Pilbara Minerals Project & Studies Team.  In this role you will be required to assist in the planning, evaluation, design overview and execution technical support of the assigned projects within the Projects & Studies team.

This is a fixed term 12-month position (potential for extension) located in our corporate office in the leafy suburb of West Perth. 

Key responsibilities include, and are not limited to:

• Assist the Delivery Leads in ensuring projects are completed as per the requirements and specifications of the project.
• Responsible for the coordination and management of engineering design to ensure that design technical and quality standards are achieved within allocated time and budget.
• Responsible for the coordination and management of equipment procurement, including tender, evaluation, award and expediting delivery.
• Responsible for the delivery of the SMPEI package of works including tender, evaluation, award and expediting delivery, and construction.
• Assist in the preparation of installation contract scope of works and commercial tender reviews.
• Contribute to estimating and scheduling components of works execution planning.
• Provide technical design oversight to project execution phase including management of technical queries and engineering consultants.
• Project quality management, including frequent inspections both on site & vendor factories.
• Assist in site project commissioning and operational handover.
• Travel to our operational site in the Pilbara region required from time to time.

ABOUT YOU:

• Relevant Engineering qualifications with a desire to gain leadership experience
• Knowledge of construction projects and experience in design engineering
• Experience in commercial contract management aspects is desirable
• Experience on commissioning management and processes is desirable
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.
• Demonstrates strong leadership
• WA C class drivers licence
