Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter and a refinery. We also have plans to expand our operations with new mines in the northern Goldfields and a large nickel sulphate plant in Kwinana.
Reporting to the Superintendent Exploration, in this key role, you will join a committed team motivated to deliver the next Nickel-Sulphide deposit to Nickel West. The position of Senior Geologist will be responsible for geological data collection, QAQC, drill hole tracking, lab liaison, target generation and geological modelling. This opportunity provides the chance to develop your exploration skills within the Agnew-Wiluna Belt – a world class nickel-sulphide province that is highly prospective. Located at Leinster on a FIFO basis or residential and forms part of a growing Exploration team.
Key responsibilities include:
Nickel West Leinster is located 375 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The operation sources nickel ore from the Leinster Underground complex and Cliffs Underground Mine before crushing and processing to produce a concentrate. The Leinster Village and Township offer a unique lifestyle with all the modern conveniences – an Olympic size swimming pool, health and fitness centre, race-course and even an 18 hole golf course.
