About the Role
As the Principal Cloud Architect – AWS Platforms, you will have three main responsibilities: leading cultural change for cloud adoption, design and development of our AWS platform architecture, and assisting customers in architecting solutions that are cloud native, with focus on data services in AWS. You will have a variety of technical and nontechnical skills, but above all, you must be a great collaborator in order to empower and connect with a variety of other architectural roles in the organization.
You will build close relationships with Cloud Architects and Engineers within the Cloud Team and with projects across BHP. You will engage with external stakeholders to provide technical guidance and advice to speed up the adoption of the platform aligned to our technology and cloud strategy.

Engage early with Cloud project teams, including Architects and Engineers to provide advisory and expertise, to effectively influence the end-to-end product development and migration processes, ensuring best practice and streamlined implementation of the Cloud strategy
Engage with Cloud & Infrastructure teams to ensure the platform capabilities, product and services roadmap meet Customer requirements
Communicate cloud platform products and services effectively to stakeholders and other architects to ensure a secure and scalable approach to leveraging cloud is realised
Interface and collaborate with other architecture functions and internal cloud engineering squads on best practice for cloud architecture patterns
Drive deep architectural discussions to ensure complex solutions are successfully deployed in the cloud and leverage cloud native architecture patterns where appropriate
You will be a trailblazer who enjoys delivering great products through complex problem solving. As a fantastic communicator you will be able to get the best of a team and able to engage with a range of multidisciplinary stakeholders.
We are looking for those with the following:
Significant experience using infrastructure as code and designing end-to-end DevSecOps pipelines
Demonstrated capability architecting Landing Zone deployments, or similar implementations in an Enterprise multi-account service model
Significant platform experience including operational excellence, cyber security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization
Significant infrastructure architecture expertise including capacity planning, environment strategy and hosting requirements
Experience with architecting infrastructure as code deployments in an API-driven, microservices structure will be highly regarded
Significant experience migrating applications to Cloud, driving legacy application modernization and adoption of Cloud native solutions
Strong understanding of IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and cloud native solutions, incl. containers and serverless
Understanding of Cloud capability and application in a complex enterprise architecture and technology environment
