Queensland Coal comprises the BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) assets in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, Australia.
BMA is Australia’s largest coal producer and supplier of seaborne metallurgical coal. BMA is owned 50:50 by BHP and Mitsubishi Development. BMA operates seven Bowen Basin mines (Goonyella Riverside, Broadmeadow, Daunia, Peak Downs, Saraji, Blackwater and Caval Ridge) and owns and operates the Hay Point Coal Terminal near Mackay.
The Saraji open cut mine is a coal mine located near Dysart in the Central Queensland region of Australia. The mine is located 200 kilometres south west of Mackay and 60 kilometres south east of the mining town of Moranbah. The Saraji Coal Mine has coal reserves amounting to 648 million tonnes of coking coal and is one of the largest coal reserves in Australia and the world.
An exciting opportunity exists to join our BMA Asset as Manager Engineering at one of our Mines in the Bowen Basin.
This role can be offered on flexible commute or residential options to Central Queensland.
Engineering at BMA plays a critical role in ensuring safety and stability of each Operation. The engineering function is responsible for managing the capital portfolio, governing and protecting the integrity of assets across all BMA Operations.
As the Engineering Manager reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will establish a work environment that is planned and predictable which results in safe and efficient execution of small projects. You will also play a key role in coaching and mentoring your team of high performers to achieve a positive result.
