About the role

This is an exciting new position within the MinRes Operational Finance team.  The Management Accountant for Onslow Iron will ensure timely, accurate reporting on the Onslow Iron project dedicated to meeting the requirement of all managerial stakeholders involved in the Onslow Iron project, as well as Senior Management.  The position will assist in the timely decision making by providing both a detailed and holistic view on the project.  The successful candidate needs to be familiar with financial modelling, and be well familiar with partnering with various teams to obtain the best outcome for the business.

Key responsibilities include

• Working across various operational teams (within and outside of Finance) to obtain information relevant for modelling and forecasting for the project
• Up to date progress reporting on project, including a monthly management meeting
• Coordinating and stress-checking a monthly 3-year forecast for the project

This position reports directly to the Financial Controller.

What you’ll bring to the team

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or similar
• CA/CPA membership
• Experience with intercompany accounting
• Minimum 5 years mining industry (or similar) experience
• Advanced level of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Budgeting/Forecasting experience
