Downer has a long history of delivering transport infrastructure projects under a variety of contracting models. Services include the design and construction of light rail, heavy rail, signalling, track and station works, rail safety technology, bridges and roads. 

We are currently seeking a Leading Hand Track to join our team on a Full-time Permanent basis working on a FIFO arrangement in the North West of Western Australia.

About the role

Working on a 2:1 roster, you will provide day to day leadership of the infrastructure maintenance staff. Some Key Results Areas and Accountabilities are:

• Manage infrastructure maintenance staff to ensure maintenance and projects are completed within agreed time frames
• Provide coaching and leadership; and maintain effective communication channels
• Develop a culture of personal accountability and create an environment that encourages and rewards successful performance
• Ensure that the standard of workmanship is compliant relevant to specifications and work instructions and that specified inspections and tests are conducted in accordance with the approved inspection and test plans

About You

To be successful in this role you must have the following:

• Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure
• Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure (Highly Desirable)
• Strong experience in leading work groups
• Strong experience of all track maintenance and construction activities
• Understanding and ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings
