About the Role
The Lead Control Systems Engineer (Process Improvement Mines) provides leadership and technical expertise.
You will work closely with other maintenance and production teams to ensure safe and sustainable solutions are delivered and successfully implemented.
In this role you will:
Lead and coordinate the control systems engineering team that provide support to Mining Operations;
Manage control systems engineering planned work;
Provide support to fixed plant maintenance to fault find and identifying root cause.
Ensure that designs include HSEC considerations for risks in constructability, operability, maintainability and sustainability.
Manage and execute minor works related to automation improvements.
Contribute to the review and improvement of control systems standards.
Contribute to the asset management strategy for WAIO control systems assets
Contribute to Technology Process Improvement Control Systems strategy and roadmap
You will be a motivated and passionate Control Systems professional who is committed to technical excellence and sustainable improvement. Your technical expertise and team approach will contribute to business improvements from projects that have a control systems components.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the business at all levels. You drive health and safety in your work and demonstrate a commitment to technical regulatory compliance.
The role will see you utilising your problem solving and analytical skills while having the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
In addition we are looking for candidates with the following skills:
Experience in leading and supervising a diverse professional maintenance team.
Experience in investigation and Root Cause Analysis.
Configuration and programming of various PLC Platforms, including Allen Bradley ControlLogix, GE and Schneider Concept
Configuration and programming of SCADA/HMI systems, in particular Citect SCADA.
Functional Safety Certification in Systems design and maintenance.
Industrial fieldbus networks such as PROFIBUS, MODBUS and DEVICENET
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering / Control Systems Engineering (or similar)
You will be based at one of our mine sites; Newman or Area C in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on a fly-in fly-out 5:2 4:3 roster. Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
