The Narngulu Mineral Separation Plant (MSP) based in Geraldton is one of the largest mineral processing facilities globally and the mineral processing hub for Iluka’s Australian operations. It is capable of accepting heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) feed stocks from various production sources, currently treating heavy mineral concentrate from the company’s Jacinth-Ambrosia mine in South Australia and Iluka’s new Cataby mine site in Western Australia.
We currently have exciting opportunities available for motivated Laboratory Assistants on a fixed-term basis at our Narngulu Operation in Geraldton. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about learning and display strong initiative and problem solving skills to work within our Exploration Laboratory team.
About the role
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, responsibilities of this role include:
Conducting quality control and testing of material
Sorting and registering of samples
Utilisation of equipment relevant to mineral sands analysis
Strong focus on accuracy and safety
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated pro-active approach to safety and environment
High level of attention to detail
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team, and be self-managing
Unrestricted WA Drivers Licence
