About the Role
We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people looking to start or continue their career in mining to Think Big with BHP. Indigenous Peoples are critical partners and stakeholders in many of BHP operations both within Australia and around the world. Many of our operations are located on or near lands traditionally owned by or under the customary use of Indigenous Peoples and the long-term nature of our operations allows us to establish long lasting relationships with these Indigenous communities.
We are looking for an Indigenous Specialist Trainer to join our inclusive and high performing Mining Production Training team. Working as the link between technical expert and trainer facilitator, your communication skills and proactive nature will enable you to deliver training for our New to Industry and Steels and Wheels programs.
Reporting to the Training Supervisor key responsibilities will include:
- Coaching & mentoring of Indigenous Employees
- Delivery of training packages & Adapting presentation to suit learner needs
- Train, coach, mentor & assess New to Industry personnel & or Steels & Wheels candidates
- Reviewing content of operational training programs & training packages
- Communication & building of solid relationships with key stakeholders
About You
- Certificate IV TAE Training & Assessing 40116 or Enterprise Skillset is required
- CAT Haul Trucks or Komatsu Haul Trucks experience is required
- Grader, Track Dozer, Wheel Dozer, Wheel Loader experience is preferred but not essential
- Experience in instructor lead & hands on training is preferred but not essential
- Experience in assessment of candidates is preferred but not essential
