Geological Systems Unit Manager NEW

Role Details:

Reporting to the Vice President Exploration and Head of Geology, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient design and operation of all current geological systems, automation and supply of geological products to all areas of Gold Fields geology, setting of system priorities, project management of key deliverables and providing of a vision for future Gold Fields geological systems.

This role is offered on a 5 days on 2 days off roster (Monday – Friday) at our Perth corporate office on a permanent basis.

About the role:

• Continually improve the quality, efficiency and operations of Gold Fields geological systems;
• Ensure the delivery of all geological data and products on schedule an accurately;
• Review, map, and complete gap analysis on all Gold Fields geological systems. Design and propose process to improve Gold Fields geology systems;
• Identify, source and analyse third party products and services that could improve Gold Fields geological systems;
• Project manage all approved geology system initiatives and improvements to ensure on time and budget delivery;
• Interact and support geology teams by providing appropriate geological data or products;
• Provide high level technical assistance with sourcing, manipulating and storing disparite geological datasets. Assist in the interrogation and “cleaning” of these datasets where appropriate or requested;
• Build intellectual property and resources, including geological databases and industry/academia contacts.

About you:

• Appropriate IT certification
• Extensive relevant experience undertaking similar work for resources industry clients, with activities in both greenfields and brownfields exploration environments
• Extensive experience in project management
• Demonstrated experience in priority setting and motivating teams
