About the Role
BHP Metals Exploration, part of the world’s largest integrated resources company, is moving into an exciting period of sustainable growth and development. With a clear strategy and focus on projects from early-stage concept development through to advanced exploration, we now have a newly created opportunity for a driven and passionate Geophysicist to further develop their career and shape the exploration portfolio within one of the world's most exciting and successful exploration businesses.
As Exploration Geophysicist within the Exploration team, you will be given the opportunity to:
- Definition of technical specifications, supervision, and control of acquisition of data.
- Interpretation of all geophysical datasets and integration to produces working geological models at regional and deposit scale for exploration work.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external geophysical contacts and consultants and actively supports knowledge sharing
- Participates in technical reviews at the country level supporting the geology team with understanding geophysical responses for different deposit styles of copper and nickel.
- Provides expert and specialist geophysical skills, experience and capability to support Exploration projects and activities.
- Contribute to the exploration plan, design, and data capture for all active exploration projects
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an accomplished and highly collaborative Geophysicist. You are team-oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in achieving results.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Experience in exploration geophysics
- Bachelor of Science in Geophysics
- Knowledge in the use of geophysical software such as Oasis Montaj, Maxwell, Geoscience Analyst, Model Vision.
- Knowledge in using GIS software such as ArcGIS
- Ability to travel to remote work locations as and when required
- Part-time and Full-time options available
