Macmahon is embarking on an exciting new cyber strategy, covering a vast span of cyber and security disciplines. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced System Engineer to join the team at the Perth Head Office, located near the Perth Airport. This role will be fundamental in the establishment and governance of cyber initiatives for the entire Macmahon group.
As part of the technology team, the role will report to the newly created position of Team Lead – Cyber Systems. The role will support the ongoing confidentiality, integrity and availability of Macmahon’s technology services and infrastructure through the execution of the Macmahon cyber strategy and contributes to the development and maintenance of the IT security governance framework, policies, standards, processes, procedures. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the IT security governance framework, policies, standards, processes and procedures
Perform continuous improvement by reviewing and remediating Macmahon’s technology services to align with the IT security governance framework, policies and standards
Enable the ongoing confidentiality, integrity and availability of Macmahon’s technology services by performing proactive monitoring of IT security systems and processes, to resolve incidents
Participate in external security assurance activities (eg: security audits and penetration test) and perform internal activities (eg: business impact assessments and systems architecture security reviews)
Complete IT security-related service requests in a timely fashion to agreed service levels
Contribute to projects / initiatives from management team, as required, to improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of Technology & Innovation
Implementation of new security products and ongoing operation once deployed
Ensure systems knowledge is documented and shared between operational staff
Assist in operational tasks as required including after hours work from time to time.
To be successful you will have the following skills and experience
Degree / diploma in Cyber Security or related discipline / Industry certs such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, SANS or related security certifications
3 or more years of experience in prior Sys Admin / Network engineer / Cyber engineer role
Experience administrating a range of security technologies that include: Endpoint, Email Security, NGFW, Vulnerability Management, Microsoft Azure AD, Office365
Excellent technical proficiency in security-related hardware and software
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Excellent team working skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Adaptability to learn and support new and quickly changing technologies
“Can do” attitude to challenging problems and projects
Detail oriented
Excellent time management skills
Capable of involvement in multiple activities and projects and ability to deal with ambiguity
