This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the train's electrical systems while meeting industry standards and regulations. You will be responsible for designing and developing the electrical systems using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Design and develop the electrical systems including power distribution, control systems, traction systems, and auxiliary systems
Create detailed electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using MicroStation and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards.
Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into the overall design.
Assist in cost estimation for electrical components and systems, optimizing designs for cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality.
Participate in the testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, identifying and resolving issues during prototype and production phases.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical designs, changes, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Utilise MicroStation and AutoCAD software proficiently for drafting, modelling, and creating 2D and 3D drawings.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure project success.
Ensure that all electrical designs adhere to quality standards and are aligned with project objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
Electrical, Electronics Engineering diploma or degree
Minimum 3 years’ experience in design & drafting
Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD for electrical design preferred
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
Experience in designing electrical systems for rail transportation is a plus.
Knowledge of battery electric vehicle or train systems is preferred.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to rail electrical systems – highly regarded.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
