We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Control Systems Engineer to join the Eastern Pilbara Control Systems Team based in Newman. This role will provide you the opportunity to excel in your career and extend your technical expertise working across a number of different control system assets.
Reporting to the Superintendent Controls NW,JBAR and NPI You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
• Provide control systems support to breakdowns and production critical issues
• Initiate and implement minor control systems improvement work to achieve safer and more reliable plant, thereby maintaining and improving process efficiencies in line with our business plan
• Execute electrical, instrument and control systems design and commissioning for minor plant modifications and new equipment installation
• Provide technical stewardship through a variety of minor work in the electrical and control systems space
• Provide governance on all proposed control systems changes on site including risk assessment, compliance to design standards and verification
• Investigate and identify the root causes of plant downtime by interrogating control systems data, identify and execute solutions to prevent repeat events from occurring
• Monitor and Maintain APC control systems
• Support Functional Safety Lifecycles
You are a motivated, passionate and enthusiastic Control Systems professional with a Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering / Control Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
You have industry experience with a demonstrated practical and hands on approach in iron ore mining and/or port fixed plant processing facilities or similar bulk materials handling equipment.
You are able to demonstrate experience in, or possess the following attributes, technical skills and abilities to be successful in this role:
• Configuration and programming of PLC Platforms, including Guard/ControlLogix.
• Configuration and programming of SCADA/HMI systems, including CitectSCADA.
• Good written communication skills such as functional specifications, change request documentation, test and commissioning procedures and input to drawing schematics.
• Good verbal communication skills with the ability to contribute in a teamwork atmosphere within the work group and with Control System operators and maintainers.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
• Comply with and contribute to the improvement of control systems standards and Functional Safety Systems design and maintenance lifecycle.
• Initiate improvements to hardware and software for intelligent sensors and actuators, machine collision avoidance and protection applications and Advanced Process Control techniques.
