The Plant will process ore from the Talison Mining operation at Greenbushes to produce lithium hydroxide, value-adding by downstream processing with first production scheduled in 2022.

The Role

Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader, Laboratory Technicians are accountable for ensuring that analytical activities and associated tasks are conducted in a safe, professional, timely manner and in accordance with required policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Previous Laboratory experience and/or experience in sample preparation, ICP-AES, GF-AAS, PSD, XRF (Desirable) and classical techniques
• A qualification in a scientific or related discipline and/or Certificate IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques
• Quality focused with a high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and multi-task
• Current WA Driver’s License C Class
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical examination

Key Accountabilities:

• Organising assigned tasks to maximise Laboratory efficiencies
• Managing and preparing samples for analysis
• Undertaking analyses with various analytical equipment and instrumentation, as required
• Positively contributing within a team environment
• Identifying anomalies in sample type analytical results, sample type and assisting with the investigations of non-conformances
• Undertaking calibration and maintenance of equipment, consumables stock inventory control
• Mentoring inexperienced Laboratory Technicians and performing routine housekeeping and other duties, as required
